WoW Blacksmithing Guide 1-525
In this WoW blacksmithing guide I will show you a path to level your blacksmithing as fast and cheap as possible.
It's important to remember that blacksmithing can be quite expensive to level as the resources (ores/bars) are always in high demand. As such it can be quite expensive to level. Because of this it's a pretty good idea to combine it with mining if you can, so you can mine and smelt your own materials.
Another money saving option would be to get all the items that can be, disenchanted and sell these remnants.

Blacksmithing is one of those profession that isn't too great to carry along if you're still leveling. This guide is therefore focused on people that are either 80 or higher than that. You can still follow this guide if you're not but you'll have to diverge from the given path in some situations if you're looking to craft some items to use while leveling. If you're in this kind of situation and looking for help speeding up your leveling you can have a look at Dugi's Guide for some amazing tips.
Let's get started.
Leveling Blacksmithing
As per usual start by finding a city with an auctionhouse/mailbox and blacksmithing trainer close. Stormwind works great, thunder bluff isn't too bad either for the horde. Learn Apprentice Blacksmithing and get your blacksmith hammer.
You´ll need 10 of these later on
Remember to learn Journeyman Blacksmithing
You´ll need all of these later on, this recipe goes green at 87 and you may not reach 90. In this case just buy a few more copper bars for the next step to fill it up.
Remember to learn Expert Blacksmithing
Save these. You can keep making this untill 150 if it would be cheaper than the following 2 steps
You can find the dyes from the vendors near the tailoring trainers (ask a guard).
Remember to learn Artisan Blacksmithing
Hang on to these.
The recipe can be found here
Remember to learn Master Blacksmithing
You can find the recipe here.
You can find the recipe here.
Remember to learn Grand Master Blacksmithing
Remember to learn Illustrious Blacksmithing
At this point the recipes used are made under the assumption that you either sell the product (prefered) or get them disenchanted. Remember to follow the guide properly as some of the crafts give multiple skill ups, and if you craft them at a later point you lose this benefit and ruin the guide.
You may have to make a few more if you don´t get to 455 with 80 crafts.

This means you'll have to be at least level 84 and have done the first few quests in this zone. You will need 60 elementium bars and 2 hardened elementium bars to purchase all these recipes.
