Best Druid Professions

Guide
Druids are a versatile class being able to fulfill every role. Especially when leveling this
makes certain profession combinations better than others. This guide I will cover the best druid professions
for every situation.
Leatherworking and
Skinning
Leatherworking and skinning are the obvious choice for druids as they are leather wearers. I
will stress though, that this mostly goes for feral druids. The reason for this is that if you’re leveling as
a moonkin you’ll be hard-pressed to find any good caster gear for moonkins until the later levels from
leatherworking. On the upside you are able to level leatherworking very easily in combination with skinning.
It’s a good investment for later on as you are able to craft some strong gear for both feral and balance
druids at the higher levels. On top of this you also get the passive bonus from skinning, which scales with
your skinning level, that increases your chance to critically strike. This is very powerful for both ferals
and balance and it does add up.

Tailoring/Enchanting
This combination is only for restoration and balance druids. Tailoring is chosen over
leatherworking because tailoring is completely catered to cloth wearers, which by nature are always
caster/healer classes. Even though you sacrifice some armor making the switch the greater availability of
good items more than makes up for this. Enchanting combines well with Tailoring as you are able to disenchant
items crafted with tailoring giving you more materials to further level your enchanting with. On top of this
enchanting is a great profession while leveling as being able to disenchant quest rewards will give you a
large amount of cash in the long run.
Mining/x Mining, as per usual, combines with many professions. In this
paragraph I’ll give you some good options. Remember that mining isn’t considered a viable profession at level
80, unless you’re a feral tank, because the profession stat boost is stamina. It is however a great profession
for those wanting to make money, or save money leveling certain professions.
Engineering is a prime example of one of those professions. Engineering
takes a lot of ore and bars to level, but when you have it leveled it
provides you with many nifty gadgets. These include teleports all over the world, all-round bank/mail access and an
engineer-only auction house in Dalaran. You also get some unique gear enchants such as a haste boost to gloves,a
rocket enchant dealing fire damage for gloves, the ability to attach a bomb you can throw on your belt and nitro
boosts to your boots which give you a short burst of speed. It’s a very strong profession for both moonkin and
feral on top of giving many fun gadgets to play around with.
Blacksmithing is only chosen because the profession perk gives you extra
gem sockets which allow you to customize your bonus stats. As such you should only pick blacksmithing for this
versatility and not for the items you can make for your druid.
Jewelcrafting is a great profession for all 3 talent trees. The
profession bonus gives you amped up gems giving you more stats than normal gems. On top of this you can use
jewelcrafting to make some good money selling cut gems on the auction house aswell. Jewelcrafting can be very
expensive to level though, as such mining is a welcome relief.
Alchemy
Alchemy is another option that works for all three talent trees. You may wish to combine it with Herbalism as it
can be hard to get all the herbs you need to level from the auction house. It’ll provide you with longer flask
durations, more powerful flasks and access to cheaper potions as you won’t have to buy them from other players.
It’s a nice profession for the self sufficient player.
All in all the druid gets plenty of choice in profession, mostly dictated by their chosen talent
tree. You can also make profession such as blacksmithing work at the higher levels simply for the stat
bonuses the professions provide.
